5th Annual Cape Breton Cares Radiothon

 On  Thursday, September 27^th, tune into the 5^th Annual Cape Breton Cares Radiothon as inspirational stories and community spirit take-over the airwaves in Cape Breton. The Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation and Cape Breton Radio will come together again to help raise donations in the community to help purchase equipment and fund upgrades at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

From 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, tune your radio dial to Max 98.3, CJCB 1270, or The Cape 94.9, or listen live at www.capebretonradio.com  for the 5^th Annual Cape Breton Cares Radiothon. There will also be live entertainment, a barbeque and a buzz of activity outside of the Radio Building located at 318 Charlotte Street in Sydney.

In the past, the community has helped purchase:

·         a new SBRT Unit and a linear accelerator for the Cape Breton Cancer Centre;

·         a new monitoring system for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit;

·         an AED Defibrillator for the Mom and Baby Department and;

·         New equipment for several departments, including Renal Dialysis, Pediatrics, Palliative Care and Diagnostic Imaging.

Since 1991, the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation, in partnership with the community, has raised more than $18 million to purchase medical equipment that has dramatically reduced wait times and provided an increased menu of medical services here at home in Cape Breton.
